Platell's article is actually a lot more reasonable than the headline suggests. When I read it the tone was much more concerned with not giving operations such as stomach stapling so readily, suggesting that other routes (such as counselling) should be given a lot more priority. I was more in agreement than against when I read it.
It was still available on the Mail's website a few days ago - probably still is.
